Football fever has struck LSK.
With Euro 2008 currently in progress, i've been staying up all night just to catch the live matches available. Before the tournament, i predicted that Portugal & Czech Republic(Group A), Germany & Croatia(Group B), Netherlands & Italy(Group C) AND Spain & Sweden(Group D) would qualify for the quarter finals. Tho most of my predictions were correct so far, i din expect Turkey to qualify in place of the Czechs. Dun get me wrong, i'm actually rooting for Turkey to go to the next round but i thought if the Czechs were to play the same level of football they did in the last European tournament, there's no chance for the Turks. But the Turks din let me down and they've surprised many by entering the quarterfinals. Also, i did not expect Croatia and Netherlands to finish as winners of their respective groups. Though the fight for 2nd place in group D is not over yet, i expect to see Sweden go thru instead of Russia.
Now, the teams i'm rooting for during this tournament are Italy, Spain and Turkey. Though i also predicted Italy's gonna win the cup, looking at how the teams are playing right now, i'd say it'll be Netherlands ftw. Not Germany. Screw Deutschland. Arf ich dich etwas fragen!!
When i started poly, i never had the time to watch football anymore. Which was sad cos i used to love the sport very much. Especially during my primary sch days where i would play the game every recess. But now that poly's over, i have all the time in the world to watch the most beautiful game in the world. I even managed to watch the UEFA Champions league final between Man Utd and Chelsea. John Terry was my hero in the match. I've also been looking thru some old clips of past Man Utd matches on youtube. And i found this clip of the 1999 Champions League Final match between Man Utd and Bayern Munich, which produced one of the most dramatic ending to a final ever.
Other than watching football, i've been watching some old WWE or WWF as they used to call it on youtube as well. I must admit i miss the good old days of WWF. Sure the wrestling is fake but the entertaiment was good and current wrestlers can nvr match the good old trash talking days of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Here's one match i remember quite well between the two great entertainers at Wrestlemania. Notice tt i refer to them as entertainers instead of wrestlers.
